Yukai Engineering has introduced Mirumi, a furry robotic companion designed to mimic the curiosity and shyness of an infant. Equipped with sensors, it reacts to movement and people, turning its head inquisitively or ducking away when approached or touched. Mirumi attaches to bags with long arms and responds to interactions with lifelike head movements, such as “shaking no” when jiggled.

Launching via crowdfunding in mid-2025, Mirumi will come in pink and gray, priced around $70. Yukai aims for Mirumi to bring joy to others by engaging with its innocent gaze, encouraging playful interactions in public spaces.
