Robot taxis are causing traffic jams in San Francisco

The robotaxi companies Cruise and Waymo, which have received permission to transport people in San Francisco, often cause traffic jams in the city and get in the way of firefighters. According to the latter, they were only able to stop the robotaxi that drove over the hose after breaking the windshield.

Cruise, owned by car manufacturer GM, and Waymo, owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet, are two companies that can currently provide ride services to people in San Francisco with robotaxis, but many cars have stopped unexpectedly in the middle of traffic and are causing major traffic jams.
