Kyle Vogt, co-founder and CEO of robot taxi company Cruise, is stepping down. His resignation follows an accident in which a pedestrian who was hit by another vehicle was trapped under Cruise’s robot taxi, which dragged the person forward as the car tried to stop on the side of the road.
Rescuers had to use electronic forceps to free the person after the Cruise operator remotely shut down the vehicle.
Most likely, GM, the big owner of the company, will put his own employee at the head of the company.
