Researchers at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in Abu Dhabi say they have successfully developed an artificial intelligence that mimics handwriting.
The model learns by looking at a pair of handwritten word segments. The researchers hope to use the technology to help those who can no longer pick up a pen to write again, but acknowledged the possibility of it being faked.
Other AI developers have been working on similar technologies. In 2021, Meta introduced its text replacement model, TextStyleBrush, which changes words in images in the same style.
