Amazon invested $2.75 billion in artificial intelligence company Anthropic in late March, making good on an earlier promise to invest a total of $4 billion in the company.
According to Amazon, the collaboration with Anthropicu to bring the most advanced generative artificial intelligence technologies to customers around the world is just beginning. Anthropic uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its primary cloud provider for critical workloads, including safety research and future foundation model development.
Anthropic uses AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips to build, train, and deploy its future models, and has a long-term commitment to providing AWS customers around the world with access to its future generation base models on Amazon Bedrock. Amazon Bedrock helps customers build high-capacity, cost-effective, low-latency generative AI applications.
Amazon Bedrock’s most powerful Anthropic AI model, the Claude 3 model family, demonstrates enhanced intelligence, human-like responsiveness, improved control and precision, and new vision capabilities. Claude 3 Opus
outperforms other models available today, including the OpenAI GPT-4, according to Amazon.
To accelerate the adoption of advanced generative AI technologies, AWS, Anthropic and Accenture recently announced that they are teaming up to help organizations – especially those in highly regulated industries including healthcare, public sector, banking and insurance – responsibly adopt and scale generative AI solutions.
