This week, company RMS Titanic, Inc. is sending remote-operated submersibles to the Titanic wreck to conduct 3D scans and take high-resolution images, marking the company’s first visit since 2010.
This mission focuses on preservation and study, unlike the ill-fated OceanGate Titan expedition last year. The team aims to document deterioration, discover new marine life, and potentially find new access points inside the ship.
The submersibles are equipped with high-resolution cameras capable of capturing 65K imagery. RMS Titanic, Inc. plans to compare these new scans with those from 2010 and continues to display recovered artifacts in exhibits worldwide.
