Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) actors went on strike against the video game industry after negotiations for a new contract failed. The strike, which began on July 26, affects more than 160,000 members and halts work on new and ongoing video game projects.

The main issue is disagreement over AI protections for actors, with video game companies offering limited protections that SAG-AFTRA considers inadequate. The strike rules contain exceptions for certain projects, but members are encouraged to avoid working on them.

The new walkout follows a previous 11-month strike in 2016 that secured better conditions for performers.
