Apple is advancing its home robotics plans, focusing on a tabletop smart home device with a robotic arm. This device, combining an iPad-like display with a swiveling arm, will function as a smart home hub, videoconferencing tool and security device.
Led by Apple’s VP of technology, Kevin Lynch, the project ramped up recently and aims for a 2026 or 2027 release. Apple is also exploring mobile robots and humanoid designs. The device, primarily operated by Siri, is expected to cost around $1,000, though plans could change before launch.
