Google is reintroducing the ability to generate images of people through its Gemini AI chatbot after previously pulling the feature due to issues with historically inaccurate depictions.
The new version, powered by the Imagen 3 model, includes safeguards and will be available to select Gemini Advanced, Business, and Enterprise users in English. The tool can create various types of images but restricts photorealistic depictions of public figures, content involving minors and violent or sexual scenes.
Google plans to expand this feature to more users and languages soon.
