Spotify now supports Google’s Gemini Extensions, enabling users to play music via AI-powered natural language requests on compatible Android devices. Users can ask for songs by title, artist, album, playlist, or activity but cannot create playlists or stations. Spotify is the second non-Google app to integrate Gemini, following WhatsApp.

To use the feature, Spotify and Google accounts must be linked, and Gemini Apps Activity enabled. Requests default to the last-used service, so users must specify Spotify if another service is linked. Currently, the feature is English-only and unavailable on iOS, Google Messages, or the Gemini web app.
