Nvidia has launched Isaac GR00T N1, an open-source, customizable AI model designed to advance humanoid robot capabilities. CEO Jensen Huang calls it a “major breakthrough” in robotics, enabling adaptability and learning.
The model features a dual-system architecture inspired by human cognition:
System 1: Fast-thinking, reflex-based actions trained on human demonstrations and synthetic data.
System 2: A vision-language model that analyzes the environment and plans actions.
Companies like Boston Dynamics, Agility Robotics and Neura Robotics have already integrated GR00T N1. Developers can further customize it with additional training data. The training data and evaluation scenarios are now available on Hugging Face and GitHub.
