Amazon has unveiled Vulcan, a new AI-powered warehouse robot with a sense of touch, capable of picking and stowing about 75% of warehouse items—tasks once done mostly by humans. With advanced force sensors and an AI-trained system, Vulcan can safely handle goods in tight storage spaces and is already in use in Washington and Germany. Amazon says the robot improves worker safety by reducing strain, though it won’t fully replace human workers. Vulcan will expand across the U.S. and Europe over the next few years.
