A team of Purdue University students set a new Guinness World Record by building a robot that solved a Rubik’s Cube in just 0.103 seconds—three times faster than the previous record. Called “Purdubik’s Cube,” the bot used high-speed cameras, a customized cube made from strong nylon plastic and advanced solving techniques like corner cutting. The team also used a robot-specific solving algorithm and precision-tuned servo motors. Their innovation focused not just on speed, but on optimizing every step from visual input to physical movement.
