Amazon’s Zoox is launching its fully driverless robotaxi service for the public on the Las Vegas Strip starting September. The toaster-shaped vehicles, which lack pedals and steering wheels, will pick up and drop off passengers at select destinations like Resort World, AREA15, and the Luxor — with more stops to be added. Rides are free for now while Zoox awaits approval to charge fares. Trips can be requested via the Zoox app, which shows wait times and vehicle details. Zoox plans to deploy 50 vehicles across Las Vegas and San Francisco, with testing also underway in LA, Seattle, and Austin.
