OpenAI has begun rolling out ChatGPT 5.1, introducing smarter responses, clearer reasoning, and more natural conversations. The update includes two models: GPT-5.1 Instant for fast, conversational replies, and GPT-5.1 Thinking, which reasons more efficiently and uses less jargon. ChatGPT also gains eight personality options — including new Professional, Candid, and Quirky tones — letting users customize how it sounds. GPT-5.1 is releasing now to Pro, Plus, Go, and Business users, with free users getting it in the coming days. Older GPT-5 models will remain available for three months under “legacy models.”
