According to the film rating website Rotten Tomatoes, the best science fiction film of all time is Andrei Tarkovsky’s 1979 work Stalker, which has received 100 percent positive reviews from critics and 92 percent from the general public.

In the second place is James Cameron’s 1984 film The Terminator, in which a robot sent from the future helps humanity survive in the fight against artificial intelligence. The Terminator has received a 99 percent from critics and 72 percent positive feedback from the general public.

In third place we find the cute alien movie E.T the Extra-Terrestrial, made by Steven Spielberg in 1982. In the film cute little alien wanders onto our planet and becomes friends with a local boy. According to critics this masterpiece is 99 percent positive, the audience gave 72 percent favor.

Also in the top ten are Alien, Aliens, Invasion of Body Snatchers, Repo Man, Back to teh Future, Metropolis and April and the Extraordinary World.
