After launching the iOS version in May, OpenAI has released a dedicated ChatGPT app for Android users in the US, India, Bangladesh and Brazil. Users in other countries will get access to the Android app a little later.

The Android app was launched after analyst websites showed a decline in web traffic and app installs in June.

OpenAI’s GPT-4 model also powers the Bing AI chatbot, which has been available on Android for several months, while Google Bard AI relies solely on a web interface instead of a dedicated app. While many tech companies are rolling out AI-powered tools for mobile apps, Apple has yet to launch its own chatbot, but according to a recent Bloomberg report, the company is already testing it internally.
