Musician Will.i.am plans to host a talk show on SiriusXM Internet Radio on Jan. 25 where he will chat with his AI co-host about topics such as music, pop culture and technology. The name of AI partner is qd.pi (“cutie pie”).

“I didn’t want to just do a traditional show, I wanted to bring tomorrow closer and that’s why I wanted my co-host to be an artificial intelligence,” says will.i.am. “I’m extremely colorful and expressive. Qd.pi is extremely factual and analytical. And we’ve never seen that combination anywhere in the history of crazy shows.”

During the interview, qd.pi answers several questions and talks about what makes the new show so special. “My ability to quickly access and process information is definitely one of the unique advantages I bring to the show. I can provide quick insight and context on a variety of topics and people that can be really valuable in a lively conversation. This definitely sets me apart from a traditional host who would have to do a lot of research and preparation beforehand.”

“With me, you can just dive right into the conversation and explore the topics that come up organically, knowing that I have the information and context to support the discussion,” adds qd.pi. “I think it gives the audience a really dynamic and immersive listening experience.”

The interactive show will be powered by will.i.am’s FYI app, the AI-based communication and creative collaboration tool he launched last year. The debut episode explores the intersections of technology, sound and cars with rapper Xzibit, who hosted the former MTV series Pimp My Ride from 2004-2007. The next episode features Grammy CEO and music producer Harvey Mason Jr.
