Google has started experimenting with large language models to give people ways to discover new places in its Maps app.

The “Where else?” function uses artificial intelligence to analyze the 250 million places in the map application and helps to make recommendations for visiting restaurants or shopping centers based on the reviews of more than 300 million users.

According to Google, it will initially start working with a community called Local Guides to ensure that generative artificial intelligence works properly when giving recommendations. According to Google, this feature will first become available in the US.
