Elon Musk sued artificial intelligence company OpenAI last week. Musk accuses OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman of pretending to run a non-profit that aims to benefit humanity while they run a regular old tech company trying to make a lot of money.

In a relatively absurd lawsuit, Musk claims OpenAI breached a contract that doesn’t actually exist. The complaint refers to an “incorporation agreement,” but no such incorporation agreement has been entered into evidence and the breach of contract claim acknowledges that the “incorporation agreement” is essentially a tip-off from the e-mails.

The breach of contract allegation refers to an email Sam Altman sent to Elon Musk. It says the technology developed by OpenAI will be used “for the good of the world,” to which Musk replied, “I agree with everything.”

It seems that Elon Musk has once again drawn the curtains on the theater of the absurd.
