Microsoft is expanding Copilot Pro, its on-demand artificial intelligence service worldwide, that provides advanced artificial intelligence services for Microsoft web and mobile applications. More organizations and businesses will also be able to access Copilot’s services in the coming weeks.

A $20/month subscription to Copilot Pro gives users access to the free Microsoft 365 web app Copilot AI features — no paid Microsoft 365 account required. Copilot Pro users will also be able to take advantage of Copilot in Microsoft’s free mobile apps for iOS and Android in the coming months. The AI service offers features such as summarizing text in Word, composing emails in Outlook, and creating PowerPoint presentations through prompts.

Microsoft is also offering a free month of Copilot Pro to users who install the company’s Copilot mobile app for iOS or Android.

The subscription version of Copilot offers benefits such as the ability to create and share custom GPTs, a higher number of image generation per month, as well as priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo. Check out the image below for a full comparison.

However, Copilot Pro users must pay for a separate Microsoft 365 subscription to access Copilot features in desktop versions of applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Subscriptions start at $6.99 per month for individuals or $9.99 per month for a family plan of up to six users.

Organizations and businesses will also be able to use AI for Microsoft 365 in the coming weeks. The main difference is that organizations and businesses first need a Microsoft 365 subscription to add Copilot for Microsoft 365 at an additional $30 per user per month.
