Apple has signed an agreement with OpenAI to provide chatbot functionality on the iOS 18 platform, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported. The partnership is likely to be announced at Apple’s WWDC developer event in June.

Apple is also in talks with Google to offer Gemini as an additional AI, but this has yet to be publicly announced.

Meanwhile, Apple is developing its Ajax AI model for in-device tasks. The OpenAI deal allows Apple to continue working on its chatbot. Additionally, iOS 18 is expected to include custom emoji features and other artificial intelligence features.
