Anthropic has taken a major step toward going public by filing a confidential S-1 with the U.S. SEC, marking an early move toward an IPO and potentially beating OpenAI to the stock market.
The filing, which keeps key details like share price and structure private for now, is the first formal stage in the process. If approved, Anthropic could become one of the most valuable IPOs in the tech sector, with estimates placing its valuation around $965 billion, ahead of OpenAI’s roughly $852 billion.
The company continues to strengthen its Claude AI models, despite recent challenges, and remains one of the leading players in the competitive AI landscape.
