Google Messages may soon make it easier to identify AI-generated or AI-edited images. The app is reportedly preparing support for C2PA Content Credentials, a system that provides information about an image’s origin and any AI involvement.

The feature could be accessed through the “View details” menu for shared images and would offer specific information about how AI was used, rather than simply labeling an image as AI-generated. While it’s not yet available, the addition could help users quickly verify image authenticity in an online world increasingly filled with AI-created content.
