Hugging Face has introduced Microduck, a cute 10-inch bipedal robot priced at $399. The duck-shaped robot features 15 motors, a camera, depth sensor, two IMUs and an articulated beak capable of picking up objects.

Microduck comes with built-in behaviors such as walking, sitting, crouching and skating. It can also be controlled with a gamepad, follow a laser dot and interact with its surroundings.

Beyond being a fun gadget, Microduck is also an open-source development platform. Developers can teach it new skills using reinforcement learning, simulation or their own code.

The robot is available for preorder in four colors, with first deliveries expected before Christmas in North America, the UK and Europe.
