Perplexity Portable Computer now runs on Windows PCs with RTX GPUs

Perplexity’s Portable Computer is now available on Windows PCs equipped with compatible NVIDIA RTX graphics cards, expanding access beyond the previously supported NVIDIA DGX Spark systems. The AI agent runs entirely on the user’s computer, allowing sensitive files and tasks to remain local while avoiding token costs.

The system can still use cloud-based AI models for more demanding tasks, but asks for permission before sending work to the cloud. Portable Computer requires an RTX GPU with at least 24GB of VRAM, meaning supported cards include the RTX 3090, 3090 Ti, 4090 and 5090, as well as several professional workstation GPUs.
